Climate Change Brings New Infectious Diseases & Health Inequities

This presentation will discuss climate change and infectious diseases in general and offers
paradigms from the fungal world regarding both chronic and acute climate events. It will then
go over the emerging field of natural disaster microbiology. In the last half, it will frame the
larger consequences regarding climate change beyond infectious diseases (food security,
conflicts, increasing marginalization/heath inequities of the underprivileged populations,
impacts on the economy, and other social-heath determinants of climate change) and end up with
other relevant thoughts and open questions.
