International Day of Greek Language

The General Consul of Greece Ioannis Stamatekos and the leader of the Greek School of Saint Basil, Sophia Vachtevanou will present the miracle of the Greek Language.

... is an indisputable historical achievement that Greek Education and Greek Culture have as their cradle the freedom of Thought and Intellect. According to André Malraux, in his monumental speech of 28 May 1959 on the first illumination of the Acropolis, Greek Culture was the first Culture without a "holy book", where the word intelligence means to ask questions. And it was, first and foremost, this Freedom of Thought and Intellect that allowed the Greek Spirit to convert information and experience into Knowledge and Knowledge into Wisdom, that is Science, which opened the way for him to dominate the Sciences very early on, from the Positive to the Humanities, with rosary in Philosophy, especially during the Classical and Hellenistic times. That is why the Greek Language is and will be ubiquitous in the sciences, from Mathematics, Physics, Medicine, Economics to Philosophy all over the world, and even to Literature and Art.
