Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two days dedicated to getting the best deals after Thanksgiving, are all about "getting."
Giving Tuesday, December 1st, is a day for giving.
As the holiday season begins, Giving Tuesday encourages everyone to give some of their blessings to those less fortunate by donating to charity. This Giving Tuesday please consider donating to Adopt-A-Greek School!
As of this November, we have raised over $30,000 dollars towards our cause. The Greek community continues to be supportive of our efforts and without fail offers us their time, money, and support. In fact, at the recent HCC general meeting, a beautiful package of olive oil products was auctioned to support our cause and we hope to see many efforts like this one in the future. This week we received a package in the mail from the Special Needs Day Care of Livadeia. In it was a letter of thanks from the administrators of the school, letters of thanks from the students themselves, and small tokens of appreciation like Christmas ornaments and fall wreaths. This was a reminder to all of us that what we are doing matters.
The need for a program like Adopt-A-Greek School is ever-increasing. The recent refugee crisis has put a strain on already limited resources and thus the need continues to grow. We already have a number of applications to the program but we cannot fund them yet. We need your help!
